Legal Awareness Unit

Headed by : Vacant ( Deputy Secretary)

Objective :
To establish and maintain a workable system of collaboration, consultation and co-operation with any person or body of person within or outside the United Republic of Tanzania engaged in law reform.

Function/ Responsibilities:  

.To liaise with MDAs, CBOs, NGOs in identifying Legal problems that need further reform.

.To identify idea papers, position papers, discussion papers and reports from other Law Reform Agencies.

.To conduct  seminars, workshops, public lectures and other meetings of the public for the purposes of discussion on or dissemination of information or matter relating to law reform in Tanzania.

.To collect all Treaties, Protocols, Acts and upload in the Commission website.

.To design, prepare and produce the Commission Law Journal bi-annually.

.To design, prepare and produce the brochures, articles and calendar.

.To coordinate press briefings for the Commission.

.To design and prepare public legal awareness programmes through media.

.To initiate, develop and manage all other public awareness programmes on annual basis.

.To provide link between the Commission and Parent Ministry in order to get feedback of actions taken regarding Commission Reports presented to the Minister responsible with Legal Affairs
